Sr. Industrial Project Engineer
We are actively seeking qualified candidates for the position of Sr. Industrial Project Engineer / Project Manager in the Detroit, MI area. If you have experience with facilities ranging from large corporate integrated production and development technical centers, and engine, powertrain, chassis, servo-hydraulic, alternative fuel test and emissions (gas, diesel, hydrogen, biodiesel and fuel cells) test laboratories, we'd like to hear from you.
Our client has a strong belief in active technical leadership from their Project Managers and this position gives you the opportunity to lead the overall design process for numerous prestigious industrial clients. You will represent the firm to the client team and identify project requirements and user needs, coordinate and collaborate with other consultants, develop engineering concepts and recommendations, present options and recommendations to clients, and lead the internal team in project implementation.
* Position requires individuals with the ability to work on projects from the concept stage through construction and 10+ years experience designing mechanical or control systems in a consulting environment.
* BSME and Professional Registration (PE), or the ability to become registered required. LEED accredited strongly preferred.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills required including an ability to work well in a team environment. Must communicate well with clients, and with individuals at all levels in the organization. Position will include workload planning and delegation, assistance with marketing efforts and opportunity to mentor others. Understanding of applicable design codes, design standards and specification requirements, and ability to interpret them.
* Experience as a Project Engineer and Project Manager as a prime contract holder and team leader often including subconsultants for architecture, structural engineering, and civil engineering.
* Both domestic and international travel will be required. For the right person an additional opportunity exists for long-term assignment in the UK or other international location.
