Sr. Information Security Engineer Job in San Jose, California Us
REQUIREMENTS
The candidate will be a member of the Governance, Risk Compliance team responsible for security compliance and data protection programs, security issue remediation, as well as consulting on security requests and process improvements for the eBay Marketplaces, corporate IT environments and approximately 36 adjacent businesses.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Manage remediation of security issues with technology and business teams to ensure remediation is completed timely and effectively.
- Establish and implement a repeatable process for tracking, reporting and driving remediation of security issues.
- Analyze existing processes to identify improvement opportunities, recommend solutions and lead implementation.
- Report status of processes and escalate issues to security teams.
- Assist with the PCI DSS security compliance program including scoping, testing, and remediation activities.
- Support the Data Protection program.
- Leverage or implement security tools to improve monitoring and compliance functions and drive automation and efficiencies.
- Manage and maintain key Information Security tools to help mature and improve the overall effectiveness of solutions across the organization.
- Support risk management activities, particularly in the area of security compliance.
- Support and manage Security metrics reporting
- Must be able to interface and coordinate work efficiently and effectively with business colleagues and vendors in global locations and time zones.
- All other duties as required.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate for this role will have the following skills and qualifications:
- Strong project management, interpersonal, relationship building, collaboration and influencing skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Must be able to interface, influence, and coordinate work efficiently and effectively with business colleagues in multiple locations at all levels.
- Experience in Information Security, Information Technology, Internal Audit or related field, with some project management experience preferred.
- Knowledge of basic information security principles.
- Aptitude to quickly learn new environments and technologies.
- Must be organized, goal-oriented, and a self-starter.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, highly complex environment.
- Experience in Data Security Solutions, Data Encryption, Security products, or similar field
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver results.
- Ability to travel (domestic and international) as required.
- Familiarity with compliance best practices and security frameworks (SOX, PCI DSS, ISO, Data Privacy laws).
- Experience with security or compliance tools a plus (e.g. Archer, QualysGuard, Tripwire, Imperva, Vontu, NetIQ).
