Sr. Internal Auditor
SUMMARY:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans and performs operational, compliance and financial audits as defined by the internal audit plan
- Works proactively with management to identify process enhancements, cost savings, automation opportunities, and control improvements
- Conducts process owner interviews, reviews documents, and prepares working papers
- Prepares documentation and written reports to support and communicate audit results
- Follows up with management to ensure the effective implementation of audit recommendations
- Plans, executes, and monitors Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance procedures
- Assists the external auditors as needed with the quarterly and annual audit procedures
- Minimal travel required
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA highly preferred
- CIA a plus
EXPERIENCE:
- 3 - 5 years of internal audit, public accounting, consulting, or other internal control related experience
SPECIAL SKILLS:
- Experience with ACL and data mining techniques a plus
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
- Deep understanding of accounting principles and auditing concepts
- Action and results oriented attitude with the ability to overcome obstacles
- Exhibit intellectual curiosity, and willingness to learn new skills
- Ability to work effectively on a team and independently under minimum supervision
- Must have strong interpersonal skill, maturity, and good judgment and be capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals
- Has the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
