Sr. IT Manager - HR/Payroll Services: # Position Summary The Senior IT Manager will lead a high performing team in the application development and management of HR and Payroll services portfolio. The portfolio includes direct responsibility for Human Capital Management, Payroll, Recruiting and Talent Management functions/platforms for North America and European business units. As an IT Manager for HR/Payroll services, you will create impact by providing leadership for the continuous development and being accountable for delivering the strategic technology plan for the portfolio. Primary Responsibilities The position will be responsible for long term planning and developing in depth working knowledge of Staples HR business trends, the competitive environment and technology trends. The position is also responsible for the planning, communicating, prioritization, staffing, and overall management for the projects and applications supporting the Staples Global HR portfolio as well as measuring the overall activities and effectiveness of the IT organization - Be the leader/visionary in creating a ""Global Service delivery team"" in support of Staples Peoplesoft HCM Global deployment. - Drive current and long term Talent Management strategy and execute to rollout new SaaS based Talent Management system for all business units globally. - Lead a team of IT resources consisting of developers, analysts, architects and consultants (onshore and offshore). Actively build the team to have a combined skill set that meets all the current and future needs of the organization with the aim to deliver value added solutions within budget and on schedule. - Build effective relationship with Retail, Delivery and international business partners that are strategic in nature. - Function as a trusted technology advisor to the business. Ensure that the business is aware of technology implications relating to business plans. - Attract and retain high quality associates. Ensure that we have the right associates in the right roles based on our business and technology drivers. Establish individual performance goals, review performance against goals and provide coaching for associate development - Work closely with the shared services organization including Project Management Office, Quality Management, Infrastructure, Operations, and Database Management peers throughout the Staples Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to ensure that application development initiatives are delivered to meet established functional and technical requirements. - Support Staples regulatory, compliance and security processes. Qualifications Qualifications Basic - Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience - 5-8 years of management/leadership experience with ERP (Peoplesoft HCM/SAP/Oracle EBS etc.) with demonstrated understanding of change control, risk management, extensive project planning, team management, budgeting and scheduling, along with the ability to manage mu
