The Michale E. Keeling Center for Comparative Medicine and Research, located in Bastrop, Texas has the following position available:
Sr. Laboratory Technologist
Department of Veterinary Sciences
The primary functions of this position are to coordinate and supervise the operation of one of the laboratory sections or units of the Clinical Pathology Laboratory to include Urinalysis, Serology, Coagulation, Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Bacteriology, Parasitology and General Services.
This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining the quality of analytical data generated in the laboratory. Additional responsibilities include coordinating personnel so that they participate in efficient utilization of methodology and equipment.
Desired Qualifications
Education
EDUCATION
Required: Bachelor's degree in a related science field.
Experience
EXPERIENCE
Required: Three years of technologist experience in a high volume laboratory.
Preferred: Two years of additional experience in a supervisory capacity.
Certification:
CERTIFICATION
One of the following:
Certified Medical Technologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists Board of Registry (BOR).
Certified Clinical Laboratory Specialist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists Board of Registry (BOR).
Certified Cytogenetics Technologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists Board of Registry (BOR).
Certified Histocompatability Technologist by the American Board of Histocompatability and Immunogenetics.
Certified in a specialized field relevant to the laboratory assigned.
