Sr. Maintenance Technician

Primary Responsibilities

30% - Layout, construct, modify and maintain a wide variety of machinery. Dismantle, assemble and maintain intricate specialized equipment requiring skilled fitting aligning. Diagnose and correct trouble promptly. Work with drawings. Install replacements using stock parts. Work with schematics and ladder diagrams.

30% - Perform adjustments and calibration procedures on various forms of process equipment and makes necessary electrical installations and/or repairs.

20% - Perform preventative maintenance as instructed on all equipment/machinery/facility; and initiate purchase requests for parts and supplies.

10% - Work with each department providing necessary electrical support to ensure day-to-day maintenance issues are resolved; must maintain written or electronic log of any highlights occurring during shift coverage and submit weekly reports.

10% - Track and trend site utility usage (natural gas, electric, water, sewer, gases). Determines major consumption points for all incoming utilities. Develops methods to conserve and reduce utility consumption or provide less expensive method to meet demands. Creates partnerships with local utility representatives to address site needs, emergency situations and take advantage of any utility rebate programs.

Additional Responsibilities:
• Safety – Actively promotes the creation and refreshing of a grassroots proactive culture of safety by being a personal example and by encouraging, empowering, and involving all staff in safety.
• Customer Service – Working with customers, understand and anticipate their needs. Develop and maintain partnerships with individuals and groups, required to achieve and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. Understand and project the proper attitude for a service organization, creating a friendly experience for all customers. Communicate the status of projects and helpdesk requests to customers. Keep customers informed on progress of work. Be able to work in a diverse multicultural environment.
• Hours and Coverage – Provide 24x7 coverage for all aspects of Facility group’s responsibilities. Participate in a rotating “on call” schedule as assigned. Shift hours to be determined by Facility Group manager and are subject to change dependent upon changing group priorities.
• Day to Day Operation/Expectations – Perform Facility group support tasks as required, maintaining deliverables to the site on a daily basis. Individuals must be team players and self-starters/internally motivated. Be able to focus on issues and their positive solutions.
• Emergency Work – Address emergency situations in a timely manner. Assess situation, diagnose issue(s), determine proper corrective actions, secure replacement parts/materials, coordinate work, utilize outside vendors as needed, and perform repairs. Determine impact to site for emergency situations and communicate the situation to site management for the duration of the emergency.
• General Facility Work – Perform any other facility related tasks as deemed necessary by the Facilities Manager.

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

• High school degree plus minimum 3-5 years of industrial facility experience (college degree/courses a plus)
• Must possess a valid Massachusetts Journeyman’s Electrical License.
• Familiarity with trades-people of multiple disciplines (one or more trade license(s) a plus)
• Ability to work with all levels of the company
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally, with site customers
• Computer Literate with Microsoft Office and Project
• AutoCAD Experience a plus
• PLC programming a plus
