Responsible for directing a team that manages the marketing strategy and evolution of sales of one or more of the most complex or high impact products or brands.
Responsible for the marketing strategy of a group of one or more products / brands. Responsible for controlling the evolution of sales of one or more products / brands. Provides leadership and direction to implement effective promotional strategies and programs for assigned products. Analyzes sales information, projections, and other relevant data and prepares forecasts on market evolution. Identifies key product challenges and opportunities; makes appropriate recommendations for future planning. Drives efficiencies throughout the business to improve product / brand margins and to enhance processes. Conducts comparative analysis against competitors and provides strategic planning of product direction and features. Monitors sales, production and inventory trends on product line; determine appropriate pricing levels. Evaluates industry trends and consumer research to meet customer needs.Manages the efforts of one or more professional employees. Develops product plans to maximize profitability and share.
Requires bachelor's degree or equivalent and a minimum of 12 years relevant experience including at least 3 years management experience.
Requires full understanding of approaches to assessing and improving the customer value proposition. Must be able to creatively apply extensive marketing knowledge including branding, product life-cycle, competitive positioning and communications. Expert in analysis and decisions regarding the most complex or high impact aspects of product and brand marketing. Requires strong cross-functional leadership abilities. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong analytical and presentation skills. Must have strong people management skills.
A BA/BS degree in an engineering related discipline is required with a mechanical or electrical specialization preferred. An MBA is strongly preferred. A BSME and HVAC product knowledge, specifically Rooftops, is preferred. Previous product management experience is critical. Sales or sales management experience is desired. Position will work with the Commercial HVAC Products team in the corporate offices in Richardson, TX.
Additional requirements include:
- Must understand and work with new concepts quickly (range of areas to include technical, communication, marketing, training).
- Understand, work within and help improve defined processes including Marketing, Engineering and New Product Development
- Strong attention to detail and excellent quality of workmanship in all activities and work output
- Ability to analyze and summarize complex data and provide recommendations based on information
- Comfortable dealing with individuals at all levels of the organization including those in leadership and executive positions
- Demonstrated computer skills and advanced proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access and experience with SAP a plus
- Capable of working with engineering and manufacturing functional team leaders to help lead the product development and enhancement team efforts
- Ability to develop product specification requirements, product marketing and promotional plans and help lead all product development/enhancement activities
- Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines and with minimal supervision
- Great communication and problem resolution capability including the ability to negotiate with internal and external stake holders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on business and technical vocabulary, grammar and concept
- Strong people management skills (will have two employees)
