The Analytics group at SoftLayer works with the various functional teams across the company by providing data, frameworks, and tool sets to support fact and data driven decision making. It drives key business improvement projects for the company and supports executive management decisions.
The Business Analytics Sr. Manager is responsible for identifying business improvement opportunities across the company, designing and developing the solutions, and implementing them.
- Identify, prioritize and manage key business improvement projects from inception through to completion (project management and work product)
- Generate the data sets and analytical tools/frameworks to address the opportunity
- Coordinate the completion of tasks when multiple departments are required to interact
- Anticipate and identify issues and develop recommendations and courses of action for executive management which are consistent with business objectives and functional requirements
Experience Required
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Engineering, Information Systems/Technology
- Post graduate degree in Business or Engineering
- 2 years of Top 5 consulting experience
- Very strong analytical and numerical skills
- Ability to model and analyze complex data sets
- Ability to structure loosely define problems and build effective solutions
- Proven, strong Project Management skills, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong negotiation skills to reach agreement on realistic requirements scope and schedule
- Confident communicator, with advanced written and oral communications skills, comfortable presenting to senior management
- Confident in making recommendations for solutions to business issues
- Demonstrated consensus-building skills
