Sylvan Learning is looking for a Sr. Manager, Credit and Collections to join our team at the Corporate Headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland. As a Sr. Manager, Credit and Collections, you will be responsible for all aspects of account and customer servicing for our franchisee and commercial accounts. This position will report to the Corporate Controller.
As a successful Manager, Credit and Collections, you will:
* Manage all aspects of billing, cash application, and statement publishing processes.
* Manage the account servicing and collection efforts on franchise and commercial accounts.
* Manage the collection efforts for Educate subsidiaries and/or affiliates.
* Review for approval account adjustments.
* Manage the credit hold/credit restriction process.
* Prepare the monthly accounts receivable reserve analysis. Make recommendations as appropriate.
* Manage the accounts receivable month end close process.
* Meet monthly with the Credit Committee to review delinquent accounts and make recommendations for next steps.
* Manage the default and termination process.
* Interact with internal departments on disputed invoices, returns, price discrepancies and purchase order problems to expedite payment and ensure current and accurate customer accounts.
* Act as liaison with vendors who provide financing or related services to franchisees.
* Responsible for providing resale reviews and quality assurance reviews.
We require:
* An undergraduate degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
* A minimum of ten years corporate or commercial collections management experience.
* A minimum of five years accounting experience.
* A minimum of five years account and customer service management experience.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills; proven customer service skills; and, accurate documentation skills.
* Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
* In depth knowledge of PeopleSoft or Oracle billing/collections modules experience preferred
* Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
