The Sr. Manager, Data Warehouse manages the day-to-day operations of the Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) development and Business Intelligence (BI) teams, as well as, coordinates production support of data warehouse functions. Responsible for overall delivery of ETL and BI capabilities ensuring that guiding principles, standards and processes are followed. The individual works closely with the stakeholders, developers, and vendors to develop solutions to meet business requirements. Proactively seeks to add value across the software development lifecycle, provides mentoring and coaching to staff members, manages vendors and contractors, and exhibits leadership to achieve on-time and on-budget delivery.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Primarily responsible for overseeing the creation of business requirements, the technical design, development, testing, and deployment phases of projects within DW.
• Oversee the development activities of the ETL team by defining work packages, setting timelines, assigning resources and managing ETL development tasks and risks to ensure successful delivery of ETL components.
• Perform all administrative functions related to employee management (including manages talent in their area, establishing performance goals and objectives, providing ongoing constructive and formal performance feedback, establishing and implementing development plans, developing and executing compensation plans, coaching staff on performance, supporting career plans, and establishing succession plans).
• Support ad-hoc requests as well as formalized requests.
• Provide scoping, prioritization, planning, sourcing, and progress reporting pertaining to execution of the strategic roadmap.
• Provide regular and detail-appropriate reports regarding the current status of delivery, support operations, contractor and vendor performance.
• Ensure overall performance and availability of ETL infrastructure and processes to support the data warehouse and reporting systems.
• Support the research and resolution of data warehouse errors on a tier two basis during and after business hours.
• Partner with other organizations and team members to achieve results (e.g. work with the Data Center, the Network Operations Center, and other organization as needed).
• Coordinate meetings with stakeholders in documenting detailed business requirements.
• Oversee, support, and approve technical design documentation.
• Ensure comprehensive solution testing and flawless implementation.
• Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing procedures and develop strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes.
• Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications – verbally or through written documentation – to management and other employees so that issues and solutions are understood.
• Engage relevant internal parties and external vendors in identifying and implementing best practices and solution delivery.
• Establish a Business Intelligence Competency Center through partnering with stakeholders throughout the business.
• Manage experienced data management professionals in the realms of data governance, master data management, data retention, data quality, data migrations and data presentation.
• Leverage off-shore resources to their fullest potential.
