In this role you will have a macro view of the entire business, be the main joint that connects key business units and functional groups and you will be the relied upon subject matter expert. For this role, you should have a strong desire to know the business, to understand how best to protect the business, identify what the risks are, and how to mitigate those risks. You will be or become a Jack or Jill or all trades with a POV and personality that can work with many. As the Senior Manager of Indirect Global Procurement, you will be responsible for category management of the Marketing and Corporate Services categories (such as Legal, Sales, Travel and Trade Show Services.) You will lead teams driving cost, quality, service, technology and innovation efficiencies through stakeholder engagement using data and spend analysis. You will work with more than 100+ stakeholders globally across all businesses including American Girl, Fisher Price, and Mattel brands (e.g. Hot Wheels, Barbie, Monster High, Uno, Scrabble, Disney Princess) and functions such as finance and legal.

This role is vital to ensuring that Mattel continues to gain momentum towards truly becoming a World Class Strategic Sourcing organization which will drive further operational efficiencies across the globe via sustainable cost discipline and revenue growth platforms.

Four key areas of focus are:

1. Strategically lead and manage key Global Indirect Procurement categories as a relied upon subject matter expert with categories such as creative agencies, media, print, paper, and legal with more than $700MM in indirect spend.

2. Develop, manage and lead supplier relationships focusing on the top 10 strategic suppliers which requires engagement with CEOs and other senior management at third party organizations

3. Provide consistent leadership and direction regarding data and spend analytics for all categories, drive usage of the new e-sourcing system and contract management database

4. Represent Mattel's World Class Strategic Sourcing organization at conference, seminars and trade organization events. Host events in order to develop a solid network of procurement professionals to help Mattel benchmark and remain competitive and forward thinking by partnering with the best and brightest.

Required Skills
o Project management skills a must
o Experience working closely with and frequently presenting to senior management
o Strong track record in building both internal and external relationships
o Must be able to balance both strategic and tactical initiatives
o Solid background in developing and implementing clear processes and guidelines
o Negotiation training and/or sales experience
o Excellent verbal/written skills, ability to be the spokesperson for the company
o 8-10 years professional experience
o BS in Finance, Marketing, Operations/Supply Chain
o Familiarity with Marketing category and sub categories such as TV advertising creative and production, media, public relations, market research/consumer insights, retail merchandising a plus.
o Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills a must
o Fluent in English
o Open 10-15% travel (international 1-2 times/yr, domestically 3-4 times per year, locally for trade organization committee meetings and conferences)
