Sequenom is actively looking for a Senior Manager, Manufacturing Engineering to provide technical direction, establish engineering priorities, and allocate engineering resources to sustain production and support new product development and product/process transfer from RD to Manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

·         Manage  design, development, maintenance, and support of all production equipment, manufacturing methods, test fixturing, and manufacturing processes utilized in daily operations

·         Troubleshoot and develop engineering solutions to enhance performance and improve reliability of Sequenom instrumentation and/or manufacturing equipment

·         Provide technical support for released products, including knowledge transfer to field, technical documentation, field test equipment and/or test, qualification, and  troubleshooting procedures

·         Resolve technical problems requiring multiple areas of expertise.

·         Collaborate with appropriate entities to resolve and continuously improve product reliability

·         Transition new products, processes, or procedures from RD to routine operations ensuring accordance with appropriate GMP and quality expectations

·         Participate in and lead project teams periodically formed to address key corporate initiatives, new product development, or product line extensions

·         Proactively and continuously address operation efficiency, cost containment, product or component obsolesce

·         Qualify and support all sub-contracted operations

·         Create and maintain all engineering documentation including CAD, BOM’s, specifications, SOP’s and work instructions

·         Establish Production Lines, KANBAN Systems, and/or work cells, supporting lean manufacturing

      ·    Manage staff including recruiting, hiring, motivating, performance management, training and  development.

 

Requirements:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

·         Post Graduate technical or business degree strongly preferred

·         2-5  years of experience with medical device development in an R D department

·         2-5 years of experience in high complexity, mid volume manufacturing operations

·         Proven knowledge of project management techniques and tools

·         Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills spanning multiple technical disciplines

·         Strong computer skills including Word, Visio, PowerPoint, and Electronic Doc control

      ·         Familiarity with CAD, ERP systems, and Software Programming

      ·         Working knowledge of regulated operations including Design Controls, cGMP, ISO 13485

      ·         Demonstrated skills with Project Management methodology and practice
