Manager, Presales Education Program EMC Education Services ABOUT EMC SALES EDUCATION: EMC Sales Education is responsible for managing the professional development of EMC?s global Sales and Presales teams. We develop and execute programs to accelerate our new employees? time to success and assist them in achieving their strategies and goals. For existing personnel, we offer ongoing quarterly training programs to help them sharpen their skills and maintain their competitive advantage. Along with traditional web-based and instructor-led courses, we leverage the latest tools, such as podcasting, Videos-on-Demand (VODs), and interactive workshops to make this training as meaningful and relevant as possible. JOB POSITION SUMMARY: Manages the Presales Education team to identify, prioritize, develop, and implement complex presales training programs that enable Presales personnel worldwide to achieve their strategies and goals. Leads cross-functional and virtual global teams to develop and execute Accreditation and New Hire programs to Presales needs. Benchmarks and leverages best practices from other large global companies and uses this information to make recommendations for continual improvement to the organization. Maintains alignment with Presales strategy through constant communication with senior global Presales management. Measures effectiveness and ROI on all global programs and provides value added feedback. Manages activities of all department members and is responsible for hiring, coaching, and mentoring team members, whether they are local or geographically dispersed. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ? Responsible for the development and implementation of global Presales Accreditation, onboarding, readiness programs, tools, training and skills development. ? Regularly communicates team?s vision, strategy, plans and progress to field management and to executive-level stakeholders. ? Designs specific Presales curriculum that is aligned to competencies models, including knowledge based competencies (product, solution, competitive knowledge) and skills based competencies. ? Utilizes appropriate learning methods including ILT, self study, web based training and hands on exercises. ? Monitors overall effectiveness of Presales programs. ? Handles day to day people management including salary and performance reviews, hiring, coaching, mentoring and employee development. ? Responsible for programs and training budget activity ? including vendor management. SKILLS REQURED: ? Highly adaptive and eager to take initiative ? Strong communication, presentation writing skills ? Strong program/project management skills ? Attention to detail with strong organizational skills ? Sales/Presales and/or training experience in technology is a plus ? Interpersonal skills and ability to strive in a team environment
