Tasks:
- Makes strategic and tactical decisions for Information Technology
projects. Manages projects through completion and post-completion
analysis.
- Completes concise presentations to each department ensuring that the
IT department objectives and mission are understood.
- Provides multi-tier support to all departments (except server group)
and maintains mutually beneficial relationships with vendors to ensure
appropriate support of all business activities.
- Coordinates the resources necessary for the installations of server
and workstation software and hardware upgrades as well as special
network projects and installations. Manages and leads special project
teams.
- Oversees network troubleshooting and works with network infrastructure
groups for additional troubleshooting.
- Makes recommendations for IT budgets and researches IT needs for
business units. Evaluates and recommends new equipment.
- Communicates changes in Company technology and services to the
appropriate channels and personnel.
- Sets department standards and best practices. Recommends business
strategies based on the evaluation of the practical implementation of
strategies.
- Develops and oversees staff and is available for guidance.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters
of significance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work
nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
This role reports directly to the VP - MIS. The ideal candidate will communicate effectively with business and technology leaders, and must demonstrate information management, data quality management, and project management competencies. This role will manage a team of 3-4 contractors, providing management oversight, driving operational effectiveness, and assisting with priority rationalization.

-Provide oversight for the design, development, and systems integration for MIS projects from definition phase through deployment.
-Define RACI and lead the definition, deployment and management of operational processes to ensure required service levels and high data quality standards are met.
-Define, communicate, and enforce operational and development standards and quality controls based on Comcast standards and ITIL practices
-Identify opportunities and implement solutions to improve operational and development processes, and encourage team to do the same.
-Assess and mitigate operational risks; keep MIS leadership and/or program management well informed of resolutions and opportunities related to technical architecture, operational processes, capacity planning, and development efforts
-Assist with planning of strategic initiatives and advise technical and business leadership of risks and opportunities.
-Assist leadership with budgeting and forecasting activities, including management of capital and operational expenditures.
-Manage the process for hardware and software acquisition and deployment, including configuration specifications, identification and justification of network zone, and server and storage allocation.
-Liaise with other Comcast IT operational teams to manage MIS infrastructure, as well as share best practices, collaborate on cross-functional initiatives, and evangelize solutions for shared benefit.
-Contribute expertise to internal teams, task forces, and programs.
-Manage and provide current work status of team members (FTE or contractor), address and/or escalate issues as appropriate.
-Mentor key staff and foster a team environment that promotes innovation and collaboration.
-Remain current on information system advancements; evaluate and recommend improvements or enhancements that align with company goals and objectives.

- Bachelors Degree or Equivalent
- Information Sciences, Technology

- Generally requires 8-11 years related experience
-Bachelors degree in a related discipline
-5+ years experience working with management information systems
-2+ years related experience in the media / web/ telecommunications/ cable industry desired
-Proven experience in operational support for data warehouses, relational and analytic databases, ETL processes, and reporting solutions
-Understanding of complex database concepts and effectively advises development teams to ensure sound techniques are applied consistently
-Capability to effectively manage staff to ensure operations plans, policies, procedures, and transition/migration plans are consistent with the overall company goals and objectives
-Expert level knowledge and hands-on experience of ITIL implementation
-Familiarity with SDLC and software development methodologies.
-Expert level knowledge and hands-on experience of project planning and management
-Expert level knowledge and hands-on experience of resource planning and management of development and operational staff
-Experience with Level 1 and Level 2 support for servers, databases and operations
-Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
-Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills
-Superior analytical and creative problem solving skills.
-Capability to identify solution deficiencies and recommend effective resolutions.
-Development experience with relational databases such as Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server, MySQL,etc., is preferred
-Development experience with BI tools such as Essbase, Microstrategy, Business Objects, etc.. OBIEE is preferred
