Job Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for developing, leading and implementing the national promotional marketing strategy for PetSmart.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. This position will supervise 3 direct reports, which include a marketing manager and 2 associate marketing managers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES and REQUIREMENTS
• Leads ideation, validation and development of themed promotional strategy and annual marketing calendar.
• Develop and execute in-store planner sales event marketing from initial ideation to final store presentation.
• Leads strategy and development of annual circular plan in coordination with marketing and merchandising, including both digital print tactics.
• Partner in signage development and execution, as well as cross-functional lead for promotional sign strategy allocations.
• Work with Promotional Effectiveness/Merchandising Marketing/Merchandising to align promotional offers in order to maximize program effectiveness efficiency.
• Work cross-functionally within Marketing team and Banfield to maximize partner communication, program participation impact.
• Lead partnership with Canada and Puerto Rico marketing teams to ensure cohesive marketing strategies, annual plans execution.
• Play a key role in the development of external promotional advertising messaging (TV, Radio Email).
• Conduct competitor/competitive analysis; review on market trends and opportunities.
• Conduct promotional pre/post sale promotion event analysis.

• Work cross-functionally (Marketing, Merchandising, Store Operations) in a professional and collaborative manner – ability to enlist team buy-in/support in order to maximize program participation and ensure flawless execution
• Able to develop vision and formulate strategy based upon changing marketing dynamics and market needs

Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business is required (or related field); and a graduate degree is preferred. Eight to ten years of experience and a track record of managing successful marketing initiatives.
