Description
BNY Mellon is seeking a dynamic, highly experienced attorney with responsibility for the legal affairs our Wealth Management and Private Banking business. This role provides solution driven legal services to senior leaders within Wealth Management and Private Banking and additionally, manages the attorneys and legal personnel supporting these businesses. This position reports to the BNY Mellon Deputy General Counsel responsible for Investment Management and is part of the Investment Management Legal Team's senior leadership. This role functions as the primary counselor for the chief executive and senior managers who operate all aspects of both the fiduciary, fully discretionary wealth management business and the high net worth, private banking business. The successful candidate will be highly competent and experienced in this area of practice and will have effective leadership skills.
Preferences include:
* Background in general consumer banking and meaningful exposure to the eveolving environment of high net worth / private banking products and services.
* Previous experience and familiarity with the laws and regulations affecting discretionary investment managers and those providing investment related services.
* Legal practice of personal trusts and estates would be useful.
* High energy, business orientation with proper perspective on commercial / fiduciary balance.
* Proven managerial experience and technical competency.
* Strong 360 degree collaborative attitude.
Qualifications
Advanced Legal Degree and 12+ years within the Legal industry
