Sr Manufactuing Engineer
Plans, directs, and executes engineering projects related to manufacturing methods, processes, facilities, systems, and equipment using comprehensive knowledge of existing capabilities and new technology. Implements manufacturing processes of new products or product lines with the emphasis on integrating and using the most efficient methods available. Actively interfaces with production personnel to continuously improve existing processes. Provides technical expertise to support daily operations and to achieve significant improvement in production related objectives. Promptly investigates and resolves safety related projects. Manages high-visibility, strategic capital projects; manages multidisciplinary teams, leads meetings, completes regular reports in a timely matter, executes major equipment purchase contracts, develops training and operational documentation. Prepares capital expenditure requests requiring frequent interaction with upper management and outside suppliers and agencies (including regulatory personnel) to successfully complete projects. Coordinates projects with team members at all levels, departments, and facilities in the organization. Performs work with little or no direct supervision. Conducts/chairs meeting to provide information and/or address issues. Independently designs and develops projects to support overall company objectives. Organizes and leads Lean Manufacturing events and activities.
Job Requirements:
Lean manufacturing and six sigma tools preferred. Significant computer skills required to perform work effectively through use of database, spreadsheet, and word processing programs; to utilize presentation programs while conducting meeting; to utilize Computer Aided Design programs. Knowledge of business systems (SAP) and Microsoft Office products; project management skills. Good verbal and written communication skills.
