Job Title/Function:
Sr. Manufacturing Engineer – Finishing

Education
BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (Chemical preferred)

Key Working Relationships
Intra-organizational and external contacts, specifically liaising closely with suppliers, internal customers, operators, technicians, other departments and senior managers.

Direction of Others
Manages non-exempt technical employees

Key Responsibilities
• Maintain, Troubleshoot and improve the electro-plating, epoxy coat, powder paint, and waste treatment processes using root cause methodologies.
• Economically justify and implement new equipment
• Supervise, direct, and instruct technicians.
• Take ownership of process effectivity OEE, technological development, safety and reliability of finishing processes.

Knowledge
• Strong teamwork abilities, working co-operatively with people at all levels, liaising closely with suppliers, operators, technicians, internal customers, and senior managers.
• Data driven problem solving methodology with strong fundamental knowledge of electro-plating and powder coating process.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, working in cross-functional teams to improve process and troubleshoot problems.

Experience
• 5 years minimum engineering experience with at least 3 years in an electro-plating environment
• Required minimum education is a BS degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Economic justification and implementation of state of the art manufacturing process technologies.
• Pro-active communication and leadership in the manufacturing process areas.
• Use of data-driven problem solving methodologies (such as Lean, Six Sigma, PFMEA, Risk Analysis, DOE, JSA, R3, 8D, DMAIC, etc.)
