Sr. Mechanical Engineer Job in Folsom, California US
My Client in Folsom, CA is looking for a Supervising Mechanical Engineer for Large Scale Power Projects.
Work in a team environment to lead mechanical engineering activities across different phases of power project development/operation and across different technologies, including conventional gas turbine simple cycle, combined cycle and renewable technologies. Different phases of power projects include: project and technology feasibility studies, conceptual design, permitting support, full project execution (detailed design) for construction, and asset services engineering.
Work effectively with engineers and designers within mechanical discipline and across disciplines. Take the lead for engineering activities. Provide supervision, training and mentoring to lower level engineers and provide review of all deliverables. Prepare, review and approve all types of engineering deliverables including calculations, specifications, data sheets, reports and studies. Interface with and coordinate with all other disciplines, client personnel, project management, project controls, procurement, construction management, etc. Take active responsibility for schedules and budgets. Observe and follow safety and quality guides. Assist in preparation of proposals and business development opportunities. Prepare man-hour estimates to support proposals.
BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, plus 10-25 years experience in the power industry in consulting engineering and/or plant operations environments.
The selected candidate must have demonstrated experience in the power industry, specifically gas turbine / combined-cycle power plants. Additional experience with California Energy Commission permitting process preferred. Additional experience with renewable / solar power generation systems preferred. Additional experience with coal power plants and material handling preferred. Prior engineering supervision experience preferred.
PE registration required.
