Job Description POSITION SUMMARY Position can be located in any Aetna site. The Medical Economics Sr. Consultant is responsible for leading high level analytical projects for Aetna's Accountable Care Strategy. Must have prior cost medical management experience. Candidate will work collaboratively with business units across the Company providing medical cost and outcomes focused analytical research, complex financial modeling and business decision support reporting. The team is engaged in all aspects of the analytic lifecycle from program ideation/business case development through outcomes studies, report development and financial support to providers. Responsibilities: - Lead analytical projects in support of Aetnas Accountable Care Strategy and ACO provider groups - Create actionable financial projections, decision support models, and financial reporting for new and evolving products, programs and initiatives - Develop innovative analytics, insights and solutions for medical cost drivers, program valuation studies and network design/provider reimbursement issues - Assist in designing and implementing evolutionary changes to our Accountable Care Strategy Required Skills: - High level leadership skills in working across a highly matrixed organization. - High level skill in conceptualizing and creating complex financial models - Detailed knowledge of medical cost drivers and claim data - Ability to extract and manipulate data using Access, SAS, Excel EDUCATION The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Master's degree.
