Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Manager, Targeted Communications leads constant innovation in the use of PetSmart’s customer communications to drive incremental frequency/spend and increased engagement/retention. The PetSmart CRM team is focused on rapidly improving and growing our targeted communications program over the next 12-18 months, and the Sr. Manager role offers the opportunity to be a key player in the PetSmart targeted marketing department.
• Developing and driving customer contact strategy
• Collaborating closely with members of the Merchandise Marketing and Services Marketing teams to identify/prioritize campaign opportunities
• Creating communication plans with a focus on continual investment optimization through targeting, offer, content, and creative testing/learning/applying
• Managing campaign process review and improvement
• Overseeing the $10MM campaign expense/redemption budgets and key vendors
• “Hands on” campaign management - development of creative briefs, campaign list creation, review/approval of creative, campaign performance analysis, and publication/presentation of results/learnings to key stakeholders
• Managing a team of two direct reports and working closely with the Senior Manager of Loyalty Rewards to ensure that the right offer/message with optimum tone/cadence/timing
• Supporting the CRM Director in ad hoc strategic projects
• Major initiative for 2011/2012 will be on email and direct mail, but may expand to include additional one on one communications channels. This includes mobile and in-store/POS and as additional capabilities are developed.
Qualifications:
• 7+ years of relevant marketing experience, including 3+ years managing customer communications programs
• Experience in CRM and 1:1 marketing techniques
• Proficiency in driving desired customer behavior in a multi-channel marketing environment
• Collaborative focus, strong work ethic, and a positive, can-do attitude
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience presenting concepts and results to senior management
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
• Bachelors from four year college or university; MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred
• Loyalty marketing experience strongly preferred
• Retail industry preferred
