The Sr. Developer role is to define, develop, test, analyze, and maintain new and existing software applications in support of business requirements. This includes writing, coding, testing, and analyzing software programs and applications.
The Sr. Programmer Analyst will also research, design, document, and modify software specifications.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Determines solution approach to client requirements.

  • Develops and unit tests solution in .Net, C# or SQL packages based on requirements.

  • Creates specifications to address business information requirements; formulates plan-outlining steps required to develop program following established standards for design deliverables.

  • Create appropriate design documentation and program logic documentation as necessary

  • Develops detailed system design specifications to serve as a guide for system/program development.

  • Analyzes requirements and develops modules with keeping future in mind.

  • Performs maintenance and enhancement of software components, documenting modifications

  • Provides guidance and training to less-experienced programmers in order to improve productivity.

  • Design, run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging.

  • Able to communicate effectively with non-technical staff and with members of interdisciplinary teams.

  • Writes unit test cases and ensures requirements are met.

    • Secondary Responsibilities

  • Recommend and perform software improvements and upgrades

  • Provide guidance to junior team members

  • On call availability for system support

  • Flexible and adaptable in regards to learning and understanding new technologies.

    • Key Relationships
    Able to communicate effectively with non-technical staff and with members of interdisciplinary teams.
    Experience
    In depth technical work experience in a software development environment that required advanced .NET-based programming on web or client/server applications, working independently and in a team-based environment.
    Familiar with Customer Information / Billing System.

    Primary Skills
    Must be having over 8 years of experience on Microsoft platform for Web and Windows development.

    Technical

  • In-depth knowledge of C#, .NET 3.5 / 4.0

  • Experience working with relational databases (SQL Server 2000, 2005 or Oracle 9i, 11g).

  • Experience in PL/SQL Developer, Toad, SQL Server tools, NUnit, DotConnect for Oracle, Microsoft Entity framework, CruiseControl.NET is preferable.

  • Ability to work independently without high degree of supervision.

  • Ability to work as a team player.

  • Ability to make decisions using critical reasoning.

  • Ability to perform object oriented analysis and design.

  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines

  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.

  • Experience with Utilities or Telecom business domains

    • Secondary Skills

  • Prior experience deregulated energy markets

  • Exceptional customer service approach to work with internal and external customers

  • Ability to interpret client needs and identify solutions to match requirements. Understands internal and external business issues.

  • Expertise in appropriate business processes in order to contribute to the definition of business requirements, analysis of problems and testing of built components.

  • Good analytical skills. Able to understand problems, identify root cause and derive potential solutions.

    • Education
    A broad educational base, with good A level, HND/C or bachelor degree, or equivalent industry/business knowledge. IT or Business Studies an advantage.
