Sr. Network Engineer Job in Milwaukee 53224, Wisconsin US

The Sr. Network Engineer designs, develops, implements, maintains, and troubleshoots the company local area network and wide area network systems to maximize system efficiency and minimize system down time and operating costs.  Working closely with the IT Architect to meet the vision of IT.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS of the Sr. Network Engineer include but are not limited to the following: 

·         Architect the IT systems infrastructure, maintaining compliance with industry best practices and staying with the established budgets.  Make corrections to existing systems and plan for future growth, with limited technical guidance

·         Design, procure, install, configure, maintain, and document the company local area network and wide area network systems and operations, including file servers, routers, firewalls, virtual servers, workstations, and VoIP telephony equipment.  Recommend and work with vendors and provide internal analysis and support.   Diagnose and repair network problems

·         Determine specifications for end user workstations, applications and operating system configurations.  Install end user workstations, OS and applications.  Diagnose and repair client workstations, OS and application issues as needed.

·         Design, procure, install, configure and maintain company servers to include all file/print, domain controller, application and infrastructure supporting services, both physical and virtual.  Diagnose and repair as needed.

·     Provide on-call support for information system operating problems, consistent with the rotating schedule.  Provide on-call support for phone system and telecommunications related problems.

·     Support and vision for remote cardlock locations.

o    Knowledge of credit card processing requirements.

Backup Team Members

·         Configure, maintain and monitor backups within the Enterprise. 

·         Extend and/or implement IT automation and monitoring systems using Microsoft System Center and other product offerings as appropriate

·   Provide technical assistance and backup to the Wireless Telecommunications Coordinator.

·   Conduct research concerning telecommunications issues to work with providers to resolution.

·   Order landline telephone and Internet services for all company facilities.

·   Provide technical assistance and backup relating to MCC handheld and Unix server issues.

·   Basic knowledge of handheld devices and truck automation.

·   Backup to the Help Desk Team as needed.
