Description: Provide technical support operations which include infrastructure support for the agency's operations, maintenance, and upgrades of both classified and unclassified networks, servers and related hardware/software and facilities operations support.

Scope of work: 1) Server and networking support for both client/server and Web-based software in development, test, and production environments; 2) Infrastructure support for the operations, maintenance, and upgrade of both classified and unclassified networks, servers, and associated hardware/software; and 3) Facilities operations support to include network engineering, desktop support, and limited help desk support for the agency systems, LAN, wide area networks (WAN) and data communications. 4) Support for VMware vSphere 5 infrastructure.  5) NetApp Filer management and maintenance; 6) Support of end user workstations and printers, 7) Business Functions with SOP creation and lifecycle management and procurement.

 

Experience/Education:

BS/BA in related field and 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience supporting and managing desktop and server support environments as well as technical support operations in same environment.

 

Technical Skills (Required):

•           Experience in Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and 2008 operating systems and Microsoft XP/Windows 7 Workstation Operating systems is a must.

•           Familiarity of Microsoft Active Directory management including: user, group, printer, certificate server, and GPO management.

•           Fluency with Windows based networking infrastructure including DHS, DHCP and WINS.

•           Ability to manage all day-to-day aspects of VMware vSphere infrastructure: vCenter, Update Manager, and ESXi hosts is required

•           Experience working with, installing, troubleshooting and diagnosing problems on Intel based Servers and workstations. (HP and Compaq experience preferred.)

•           An intermediate or higher understanding of interdependency/connectivity principles between systems, applications and hardware/peripherals is preferred.

•           Hands-on experience with NetApp Filers provisioning volumes and presenting LUNs utilizing both Fibre Channel and iSCSI technologies.

•           Experience maintaining CISCO switches and routers creating WAN and LAN infrastructures utilizing TCP/IP protocols.

•           Familiarity with Oracle database and middleware applications is a plus.

•           Good interpersonal and organizational skills.

•           Ability to create and follow SOPs

•           Project management and work plan expertise

•           Team player able to work closely with other team members as well as individually.

 

Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, in addition to 6 years experience providing network support for a full life cycle development team environment, or 10 years professional experience in the network support arena with increasing levels of responsibility.

 

Certifications:

VCP

CCNP, MCITP Server Administrator or Enterprise Administrator, NCDA, CISSP a plus
