Description:
The Network Security Specialist is responsible for all aspects of the security infrastructure including the design, implementation, installation as well as maintenance and support.

The Network Security Specialist is responsible for maintaining expert knowledge in the following areas: Security Logging, Secure Email, Email Filtering, Secure FTP, Two Factor Authentication, Anti-Virus (Client/Server) and OS Patching (Client/Server). This position also requires knowledge in the fundamentals of routing/switching in order to understand the impact systems have on the security of the network and its systems.

This position will also be required being on a 24x7 on-call duty page rotation with flexibility in performing some out of hours and weekend maintenance work.

Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience. Industry certification in related technologies is desirable. CISSP preferred.

2. Knowledge of website administration and security best practices preferred.

3. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience working with Network Security systems.

4. Has in depth knowledge in the best practices and implementation of Network/System Security solutions.

5. Has in depth knowledge of Windows/LINUX/UNIX based servers/systems.

6. Scripting knowledge preferred (perl, shell, java script, etc.)

7. Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills required to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and external contacts.

8. Working knowledge of all areas of IT (operating systems, applications development, database management, and voice and data networks) and the ability to develop a clear understanding of the hospital's key functional processes and resources.

9. Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.

10. Works well both independently and as part of a cross functional team.

11. Detail oriented and organized.

12. Excellent time management skills.

13. Good customer service and communication skills (oral and written).

14. Solid work ethics and willingness to put in extra time/effort.

15. Ability to multitask and at the same time provide quality deliverables.

16. Strong skills in the use of PC desktop applications such as Word, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project.

17. Excellent communication skills with all types of employees and management.

18. Proven experience in IT project management and systems implementations.

19. Proven track record in successful project completion (on-time, on-budget, goals met).

20. Demonstrated ability to lead multiple small to medium sized projects simultaneously while effectively meeting all deadlines and budgets.

21. Knowledge of information systems principles, methodologies and assumptions required.

22. Previous healthcare experience desirable.

23. Ability to modify work schedules and practices to meet job requirements; requires occasional overnight travel. This includes being on-call afterhours as required.
