Position:  Sr. Performance Software Test Engineer

Location: Cleveland, OH

Duration: 12 Month Contract

 

Modis, a leader in the staffing industry, is working with a client in the Cleveland area who is seeking a Sr. Performance Software Test Engineer to join their technology-focused, forward-thinking organization.

 

Position Description:

This team provides performance management services to multiple platforms, and participates in projects of various sizes and scopes, working in mainframe and distributed environments.

 

Early morning and/or evening schedules will be required occasionally to accommodate project needs and system availability.

 

The Sr. Performance Software Test Engineer must be able to work unsupervised, must have performance testing experience, solid written and verbal communication skills, and the proven ability to work in a team environment.
This position is for an intermediate/senior performance test engineer. This individual will interact with project teams to:


a) Develop a performance testing strategy and approach. Defining the overall performance testing that will be executed.
b) Create test cases/executable test plans and test harnesses using the Mercury LoadRunner tool. This requires experience with any of the “C” languages (e.g. C, C++, C#) which is needed for actions such as “exit” programming within the testing scripts or “hooks” that require coding within the scripts. The goal is to make these repeatable tests.
c) Execute performance tests.
d) Provide technical analysis of performance test results which requires some statistical analysis. Ability to analyze the results and make recommendations for application performance tuning for better performing applications (e.g. server response time).
e) Present results to application owner and the development team.
f) Conduct “lessons learned”.
g) Conduct a post-production release analysis.

 

Candidate Must Have:

Ability to provide technical analysis of performance management data, work unsupervised, communicate well, and work in a team structure.
