SR. PHOTO LAB TECHNICIAN, College of Communication, Technology Job in Boston, Massachusetts US


Job Description
Maintain multiple digital photography post production servers and labs. Assist and train students during open lab hours and in classroom demonstrations. Assist the faculty and the Director of Technology in regards to new technologies and workflows. Coordinate storage, collection and disposal of hazardous chemicals. Monitor plumbing, ventilation and electrical conditions in the labs and coordinate repairs. Oversee the daily operation of the traditional darkroom facilities. Hire, train and supervise a student staff of seven.

Required Skills

Requires: Two years of college or equivalent, Bachelors degree preferred, proficient in computer operation, programming (Unix), still photography, (digital and black white), video, audio, mechanical aptitude for repairs, knowledge of safe handling and mixing of photo chemicals, high aptitude for solving computer problems, MAC OSX, MAC OSX Server, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Creative Suite, Photo Shop and Dreamweaver, Canon cameras and lenses, Nikon cameras and lenses Bowen light systems and three years of experience in photography and digital post production lab administration.
