The Sr. Portfolio Manager reports to the Managing Director of Investment Management, Bank of New York Mellon Transition Management Services. The Sr. Portfolio Manager will be responsible for being a senior member of the Equity team and as such, implementing the client's (and/or investment consultant's) transition plan. S/he will work closely with the Managing Director as well as Transition Managers to coordinate a trading strategy in order to implement the transition plan and meet the client's objectives. The Senior Portfolio Manager will also manage the MTM Portfolio Management staff in terms of performance evaluation, determination of compensation, delegation of workflow, and the coordination or process and procedural improvements. Functions Include: Prepare initial pre-trade analysis to accurately assess estimated costs of the proposed transition. Review in detail certified lists; upload into MTMS applicable systems for trading. Prepare of trade files for submission to trading; analyze and trade appropriate FX balances to minimize currency risk and return cash to base currency. Review execution files for accuracy and completeness of executions. Monitor corporate actions, dividends, and any cash and currency. Prepare daily reporting to the client and other interested parties, internal as well as external, regarding the status of the transition and any pending issues. Monitor the effectiveness of the transition process and records savings relative to applicable benchmarks. Prepare and present final reporting to the client, including the benefits of MTMS's services. Maintain any other necessary documentation. Qualifications include 8-10 years of investment management experience. Significant portfolio management and trading experience, including risk assessment. Strong project management and communication skills. Good understanding of how sponsors establish asset allocations and of the events that can create the need for restructuring. Ability to effectively discuss transaction costs, including commissions, market impact and opportunity costs and minimization of these costs with clients/prospects. Solid working vocabulary of investment terminology. Significant knowledge of and experience with portfolio management systems, and ideally, Stock facts PRO and BARRA. Strong analytical skills. Advanced understanding of fiduciary principles in general and of ERISA in particular. Skilled in the use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. MBA or CFA (or candidate) preferred.

Qualifications include 8-10 years of investment management experience. Significant portfolio management and trading experience, including risk assessment. Strong project management and communication skills. Good understanding of how sponsors establish asset allocations and of the events that can create the need for restructuring. Ability to effectively discuss transaction costs, including commissions, market impact and opportunity costs and minimization of these costs with clients/prospects.
