Job Summary: Senior MCSE/UNIX Engineer expertise is needed to design, procure, install, make operational a 100+ Petabyte facility and maintain support onsite activities. Work is day shift in the Springfield Virginia Area on a highly skilled and delivery focused group of engineers aimed at providing cutting edge technology and services for a variety of Mission Area and Corporate hosts. Work is highly technical and challenging but rewarding in an environment in support of Oceanographic, Bathymetric, Space and Earth Science, for Intelligence and Department of Defense entities and clients. Disciplines include Physics, Chemistry, Photography, Photogrammetry, Video, Hyper-spectral Imagery, Radar, LiDAR, and Animation. Job Responsibilities: "Gain familiarity with the customer's current data center infrastructure. "Deploy and Maintain the Storage Architecture for NCE "Implement the Detailed Storage Design for NCE "Implement Detailed Storage Design for NCE "Present redline changes and augmentations to the architecture and implementation plans to Engineering Review Board for approval. "Perform integration proof of concept testing as required "Communicate via PowerPoint and orally, changes and augmentations to architecture and integration plans to internal (other IPTs) and external customers in a clear manner. "Execute implementation plans "Provision LUNs "Ensure storage capacities at the proper tier are made available to NCE on time. Job Qualifications: "The Senior MCSE/UNIX Engineer server deployment for Storage Services must posses experience in large data center deployments. "Experience with large scale server deployments and systems administration "Ability to implement large parallel filing systems like StorNext, GPFS, Lustre, WOS etc. "Ability to implement and tune normal CiFS and NFS traffic to users and streaming JPEG servers. "Experienced in monitoring, optimizing and maintaining high performance computing environments and middleware solutions Additional Desired Skills: "RCDD or BICSI certification or experience desired "Experience implementing storage solutions in a large enterprise environment including: like Sentinal, NMCI, PENREN, or any GeoScout or contract deliverable to the customer. "Broad and deep installation, physical connectivity and horizontal and vertical integration of EMC V-Max, Clariion and/or NetApp RAID arrays, MAID, Cisco and Brocade switches, and associated management and provisioning software. "Ability to produce technical documentation, engineering and installation plans, working drawings and redlines, in Visio or AutoCAD (rendering, floor plan, rack elevation drawing skills). "Ability to use Archibus software. i.e. Visionael or Planet "Familiarity with RFID and Property Management systems like Peregrine, WhereNet or Sensormatic and ability to integrate them into our enterprise. "Ability to build and manage databases like SQL or Oracle "Ability to link objects to databases and maintain current snaps. "Analyze Entity storage requirements for data migration transition to NCE Tech Center. Years of Experience: 10-15 years of related systems engineering experience. Education Required: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience. Masters Degree preferred.
