Sr Principal Systems Engr
Job Description: As member of the RME Systems Engineering Team: Develop an in-depth understanding of the GPS Enterprise, inter-dependencies, and customer vision and priorities that leads to the program plan with contingency plans and opportunities for different approaches. Develop relationships with multiple contractors and government agencies to understand individual scope and priorities as part of the overall program plan development. Utilize experience to question the standard approaches to develop more efficient alternatives. Work with the existing contractor verification teams to develop comprehensive verification approaches that provide the opportunity for partial transition to operations to take advantage of early capability availability. Provides technical direction and clarification of requirements to software development teams, and test personnel. Supports system engineering analyses including trade studies, use case development, requirements definition and derivation, interface definition, and requirement validation and verification. Supports definition of operations concepts and procedure planning / development, interfacing with personnel from other organizations. Attends technical interchange meetings with the team members and other program personnel, and represents the organization in matters pertaining to the development of his/her project. Provides status on assigned Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) tasks. Provides document review and resolves technical systems engineering and integration issues. Supports ECP efforts as required. Must have the ability to manage time and resources in order to meet assigned deadlines. Candidate will serve as the functional team lead for the Systems Engineers assigned to the team, responsible for performance development of the team. Occasional travel will be required. Required Skills: Minimum of 10 years Engineering experience Experience working in a multi discipline environment Experience with interface definition/documentation (ICD) Previous GPS-OCX experience (any contractor/customer organization) Familiarity with the software development life cycle, including time as a software developer. *Secret Clearance is required* Desired Skills Experience in Requirements development/derivation/management Experience with systems integration verification and validation (IVV) Previous experience working with requirements management tools/databases Experience conducting trade studies Experience with Use Case development Experience with UML and Rational 4+1 views Experience with CONOPS development Experience working in a development or Satellite Operations environment Experience with Ground Systems Operations Experience with Planning, Scheduling and Orbit Operations Knowledge of Command and Control, Ground Status basics Technical Leadership experience Line Management experience Cost Account Management (CAM) experience Earned Value Management (EVMS) experience Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leadership experience.
