Sr. Principal Technical Support Consultant Job in Houston, Texas Us
Incumbent will provide technical support and training to AspenTech's customers on AspenTech's Advanced Process Control (APC) Suite of software including Aspen DMCplus, AspenWatch, Aspen IQ, and related products.
Provide technical support and product training to AspenTech's customers through phone, Email, and Web on AspenTech's Advanced Process Control (APC) Suite of software including DMCplus, AspenWatch, Aspen IQ and related products.
- Deliver training in AspenTech's training centers and/or at the customer site on these products and related modules.
- Develop and maintain course training materials to include newly released features and/or products.
- Troubleshoot customers' problems and communicate findings, progress and solutions to the customers. Document the progress of each technical issue and solution in a CRM system.
- Based on feedback from customers and personal experience with products, provide recommendations for product development that will benefit AspenTech's APC user community. Work with RD staff to prioritize such enhancement requests.
- Create and maintain online technical articles (Tips, FAQs, Best Practice white papers, etc) for publication in knowledge base on AspenTech's support website.
- Test pre-released versions of AspenTech software.
Other responsibilities: Serve as the focal point for problem escalation and resolution. Review unresolved issues and work with RD development team to ensure proper resolution of customer's complex problems or software defects. Review and approve technical articles for publishing on the support website. Mentor junior level staff by virtue of broad industrial experience and in-depth product knowledge. Assist in the screening and recruitment of new hires.
Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering.
- 3-15 years experience as a process control engineer. May count substantial university-level project in process control towards experience.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer relationship skills is a must.
- Occasional international travel required
