This Sr. Process Analysis Engineer is responsible for leading and developing process analytical technology in support of AkzoNobel's North American business units. This person will develop, lead and support programs focusing on the installation of in/at-line process analytical tools that will improve product consistency, "right first time" performance in manufacturing operations and attain overall company business objectives. The role is linked to our global process engineering team.
The role encompasses five key accountabilities.
Technical: Develop an understanding of all available process analytical tools for industry that are applicable to North American manufacturing sites.
Project Management: Plan, mentor and manage PA projects at NA manufacturing sites, working with functional (site) manager to assign/acquire resources to meet project objectives or needs.
Leadership: The incumbent will provide the technical discipline and leadership required to plan and implement robust and capable process analytical technologies. The incumbent will identify and implement appropriate process analytical methodologies that will lead to enhanced process efficiency, increasing productivity, improve quality and reduce costs.
Organizational: Develop a cross BU team to develop and implement in-line or at-line process analytical tools. Create lasting positive relationships across manufacturing sites, maintaining an effective network, both internally and externally for process analytics and process engineering.
Safety: Observe and enthusiastically support all safety policies in manufacturing and laboratory activities. Wear required PPE, monitor safety behaviours of colleagues and encourage a safely culture.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
This role requires 5+ years of related experience in chemical or polymers industry. Master's degree preferred. Knowledge of process analytical tools and experience with chemical or polymer synthesis and/or processing in laboratory, pilot plant, or commercial-scale operations are fundamental to this role. The individual in this role must enjoy developing and sustaining relationships, working on cross functional teams and possess excellent communication skills (including fluency in English) as well as project management experience.
