Director of Accounting - CPA
A large financial services company is searching for a CPA with strong technical accounting skills to create a new team. The organization is successful, well known, and has locations in the north east. The position requires a hands on manager with management experience and the ability to create relationships and lead. The role focuses on providing reporting and accounting services to clients focusing on pension funds and defined benefit plans.
- CPA is a must.
- Experience in financial services in a large complex organization.
- Accounting and financial reporting for pension funds with knowledge of ERISA and GASB is a requirement for this role.
- Hands on skills, management skills, presentation and leadership skills are required.
- The position will transition into a role that is more client facing and strategic as the team grows.
- Advanced Excel and systems skills.
This is a new role, it requires up to 15% travel all in the north east but it has the flexibility to work remotely, at home and at their other offices. This individual will be responsible for creating the new role and then hiring a team. Pay is up to $140k plus bonus.
