Sr Professional Sales Representative
Primary Role
Contribute to achieving national sales quota by effectively implementing marketing strategies and sales plan in assigned territory. Provide current, accurate and meaningful product information to physicians, pharmacists, hospitals, and other customers, for the primary purpose of selling the customer on Shire products as instructed by company.
Responsibilities
- Meet all quarterly sales objectives for Shire products.
- Implement and assist in developing marketing and sales strategies as directed.
- Manages distribution of Company's products through various channels of distribution; i.e. retailers, wholesalers, hospitals and others as assigned.
- Participate in sales meetings, medical meetings, conventions and training programs as required.
- Demonstrate mastery of basic selling skills as outlined in the initial training program and subsequent P.O.A. meetings.
- Demonstrate advanced product knowledge of Shire's products and competitive products.
- Demonstrate effective interaction with all company personnel.
- Maintain up-to-date call records for physicians, hospitals, pharmacies and other field contacts.
- Submit reports and paperwork accurately and on time.
- Maintain organized, clean and proper sample and literature storage.
- Maintain a clean car and in good working order - report any damage and initiate repairs, so as to minimize automotive lost field time.
- Maintain a professional business-like appearance at all times.
- Develop and maintain a physician universe and territory operational plan designed for efficient coverage/call back frequency of high volume physicians, hospitals, pharmacies, wholesalers and other key customers.
- Develop and maintain a positive business climate for the Company.
- Consult with Management on unusual problems or situations.
- Read and follow the Company's policy and procedures.
- Other tasks as assigned by management.
Education Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Two to five years pharmaceutical sales experience.
