THE JOB OF:   Senior Programmer Analyst (ICS)

NATURE OF WORK:

 

To provide Information Technology support and solutions for all application systems and for all areas of the Commission.  The Senior Programmer Analyst serves as a company wide resource for projects involving Information Technology.  The Senior Programmer Analyst is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software integration solutions using the Software AG webMethods Integration Platform when applicable.  Responsible for maintaining the webMethods  Integration Platform system’s integrity, availability, accessibility, security and current patch levels. Install and maintain software packages purchased by OUC. Responsible for administering existing production non-production environments.

 

 

BASIC JOB DUTIES:

  As a Sr. Programmer Analyst, you will be responsible for the following:

 

·    Perform software development duties as part of a team

·    Thorough analysis, specifications and application design

·    All forms of testing inclusive of unit, integration, system and user acceptance with proper documentation

·    Coordinate and work with internal and external team members to understand technical and functional requirements and identify and resolve issues and risks.

·    Provide technical guidance to junior developers.

·    Provide second tier on call support in the event there are production outages during and after business hours

·    Projects include the development and implementation of automated systems, back-office systems, integration middleware, web services, web development.

·    Install and maintain software packages purchased by OUC.

·    Coordinate the implementation and completion of recommended specifications for all new systems, system changes, and problem correction.

·    Deploy developed software projects through the different stages such as test, user acceptance, and production environments.

·    Responsibilities including; installing, configuring, supporting, maintaining, administering, and documenting the webMethods environments

·    Identify problems, troubleshooting, and solution implementation in a production environment.

·    Develop and demonstrate a good understanding and use of monitoring tools and webMethods Administration Consoles.

·    Monitor the application health using monitoring tools and custom procedures.

·    Monitor alerts thrown by the applications via monitoring alerts and take appropriate action

·    Develop and demonstrate a good understanding of the Change Management process.

·    Prepare unit test data, test and debug webMethods solutions

·    Deploy the software release using webMethods Deployer and appropriate tools.

·    Interact with software, network, database, and Unix administrators to seamlessly implement solutions to complex technical issues

·    Participate in incident management and problem management discussions and support incident manager in submitting root cause analysis reports and to resolve application issues.

·    Working with various multiple application teams, application developers, adapting SOA and Middle-Tier standards.

·    Implementing security policies.

·    Will be expected to follow web services standards and provide intelligent and experienced feedback on standards improvements

·    Must be able to communicate clearly with UML diagrams and data flow patterns

·    Provide detailed time estimates of the work to be done and regular progress updates as required to the Team Leader and/or Project Manager

·    Perform other related duties as directed

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

·         B.S. in Computer Science or related field. Minimum seven (7) years software development experience (in multiple environments) employing formal software development methodologies.

·         Experience and understanding of network devices within a DMZ and corporate architecture that includes load balancers, firewalls and XML Gateways

·         Experience with relational databases (Oracle and SQL Server required) and client/server environment (HP Unix and MS Windows 2008 Server).

·         Strong knowledge of integration technologies including but not limited to HTML, ASP, .NET, JAVA, EJB, J2EE, XSLT, XML, JMS, ODBC, JDBC, JNDI, SOAP, Web Services, WSDL, and WS-* specifications, UML diagrams

·         2+ Years developing integration solutions with the Software AG webMethods Integration Platform version 7.x and greater including Integration Server, Broker, Deployer, and My WebMethods Server (Portal) and Developer/Designer.

·         Experience is designing of an enterprise canonical message models and object oriented design

·         Experience in enterprise messaging and integration design, analysis, and development techniques using the Software AG webMethods Integration Platform.

·         Must be able to configure and support clustered webMethods Integration Servers.

·         Must be able to translate business needs and requirements into technical specifications including but not limited to API documentation and data mapping for integration solutions using excellent documentation skills.

·         Lead system integration projects related to SOA and/or ESB

·         Good written and oral communication skills; ability to make presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences. Excellent interpersonal and interview skills.

·         Experience providing technical guidance to junior developers.

·         Demonstrate exceptional decision-making, organizational and time management skills

PAY GRADE:      E19     Min. $68,000 – Mid. $85,000 – Max. $110,500 annually
