Job Description: SUMMARY: Assists in the development of detailed system specifications for major systems installation; may provide work leadership and direction for other members of the programmer/analyst staff, with emphasis on detailed analysis, programming and/or configuration issues; works with little direct supervision in the maintenance of assigned systems and the development and installation of systems. This position must have significant exposure to and demonstrated proficiency in the a reas of programming and/or configuration, analysis, design, software requirements, testing, debugging, and implementation. Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to the following: Act as liaison between a business department and IS; Perform all programming and/or configuration assignments as well as coach and mentor other team members; Analyze and resolve software errors in a timely and accurate fashion; Provide status reports where required; Develop and review design specifications for software applications; Develop and maintain software to support the business processes; Create and maintain documentation for code and/or configuration throughout the system lifecycle; Train end users on established programs; Provide on-call support and problem resolution for software applications; Work with end-user groups closely to assist with aligning IS technology with the department's business goals; Conduct feasibility studies to definethe purpose, functions, and overall structure of business processes; Perform analysis and document business processes leading to process change and/or system implementation; Assist in developing system/application architecture; Aid in developing scope and requirements for IS projects for a business unit; Aid in development and execution of project plans; Conduct acceptance testing to ensure that the functional and business requirements are met by the provided solution. REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other technical area. Equivalent work experience may be acceptable. Experience: 3+ years of experience in Information Systems or related area with relevant experience Communication Skills: Good verbal and above average written skills. Role Specific Skills: Thorough understanding of business process design and experience with a System Development Lifecycle Methodology; experience developing, reviewing, and/or modifying specifications, configurations and/or programs to meet specified requirements; communicating technical information to non-technical team members; analyzing and interpreting information systems proposals, and evaluating and developing alternative implementation plans; experience working productively on a team; ability to provide constructive feedback to other team members; working knowledge of relevant multi-user computer systems, applications, and/or equipment; knowledge of current technology developments and trends; extensive problem solving skills; experience developing and executing test plans; possess basic project management capabilities; experience developing good working relationship with business area team members; possess basic SQL and data analysis skills. Travel: Some travel may be required. Amount of travel will be determined by individual project requirements. Position-Specific Requirements: Requirements: The successful applicant will possess the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise): A minimum of 3+ years of SAP BI/BW configuration / support experience in BW 7.0 or above. Strong business process knowledge and SAP BW production support experience in at least 2 of the following business areas COPA MM (Inventory Balances and Movements) PM (Plant Maintenance) Spend Analytics (SPM) HR - (Personnel Administration and recruitment) At least 2 SAP BW life cycle implementations Experience monitoring Production performance and fine tune extractors and processing as appropriate. Experience in fine-tuning query performance e.g. in aggregate maintenance. Strong experience with the following technologies: PSA, ODS, Cubes, Multi-Providers, Info Packages, Process Chains, BEX Web WAD, Info-Sources, Performance Tuning, Process Chains, Query/Report design, design and development of BW data models, BW configuration and custom development. Experience with using start/end routines to customize business requirements. Configuration of BW data objects including Info-objects, Info-sources, Transfer/Update Rules, ODS, Info-Providers, Multi-providers. Create reports using BEx Query Designer and publish reports into Portal under a Role using Web Application Designer as a tool. Experience with (ETL) Extracting, Transformation, and Loading process with SAP BW from front to back. Experience in helping end-users troubleshoot portal related issues. Have a basic understanding of User Authorization Role Maintenance Understand The Transport Request Process/Procedure with BW environment. Experience monitoring Production performance and fine tune extractors and processing as appropriate. Info Cubes - architecture, setup and performance tuning. Ability to work closely with clients to find solutions and identify business process improvements. Ability to analyze functional and technical needs and identify gaps and alternative solutions relative to existing design. Strong communication, both written and verbal, and strong interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to multi-task. Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment. Interact with the users, gather requirements, develop design, and write functional and technical specifications based on the requirement and the design. And ability to translate requirements into data model designs. Excellent communicator able to traverse all levels of functional and technical staff The candidate must be an independent worker capable with the ability to lead a BW enhancement/mini project and develop work-plan, estimate effort, and follow up and report on progress Additional skills are a plus: Some experience in any of the areas below would be an added advantage. FSCM - Collections management FSCM - Credit management FSCM - Biller Direct FSCM - Dispute Sales and distribution IP /Vistex HR (e-recruiting and time attendance) CRM System Rebuilds/Refreshes.
