In this position, the Sr. Project Manager leads all aspects of corporate facility construction projects.The primary position responsibilities are related to the implementation of design and construction projects for new and existing buildings as leader of a team of internal and external subject matter experts. Primary duties include budget and schedule development and monitoring, contractor/vendor selection and coordination, project permitting, internal and external communications, and project reporting for a broad range of facility types including labs, offices, and diverse manufacturing environments.

* The single point of responsibility for the planning and delivery of all major construction projects for new and modified facilities around the globe

* Support the Real Estate Director and their internal customers (business leaders) in planning and executing projects to meet critical business objectives.

* Support peers in meeting their objectives through teamwork.

* Guide junior project managers and on-site facility managers in all project delivery methods.

* Oversee the project management process, including partnering with facility managers and external and internal partners and service providers (i.e. architects, engineers, HR, IT, Security, EHS, Site Property Manager, etc.).

* Perform project feasibility studies including scope, schedule and budget reviews.

* Explore problems, develop solutions and drive to resolution

* Develop and implement processes for delivery of projects in a consistent manner across the Global Portfolio with oversight from the Real Estate Director. Processes include scope, schedule, and budget development, progress reporting and customer satisfaction surveys.

* Lead vendor selection efforts and management with strict adherence to Corporate policy

* Oversight of the project permitting process

* Negotiation of business terms of commercial construction contracts

* Coordination with representatives of internal business units and facility managers

* Teamwork with members of Environment, Health Safety and IT groups.

* Development and monitoring of project budgets and schedules

* Attendance at weekly project meetings and publication of meeting minutes

* Assist in the development and responsible for the implementation of Functional Technical, metrics and measures.

* Comply with all Company Policies and procedures including Business Conduct and fiscal rules.

* Be prepared to travel and work flexibly and remotely, when required, in order to support the requirements of this position

* Act as an advocate for, and be a responsible representative of Bio-Rad Laboratories at all times

Experience Required

B.Arch, M. Arch. or BS in Engineering. MS in Project Management a plus.

* Clear communication; written and verbal; internal and external to the Corporation

* Language skills in one or more other language a plus.

* Demonstrated record of successful project management.

* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

* Demonstrated familiarity with the conventions and terms of commercial construction contracts, drawings and specifications.

* Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems and develop recommended actions.

* Strong understanding of construction practices, technologies and systems.

* Proven track record of meeting project requirements and deadlines.

* Demonstrated success in leading multi-disciplinary teams.

* High degree of professionalism, organizational astuteness and ability to develop effective relationships with both internal and external customers.

* High energy

* Able to travel to project sites throughout the world without limitation. Position travel will vary with project location and may reach 50%.

* 5 or more years of corporate or commercial project management experience

* PMP Certified (Project Management Professional)

* Background in design, engineering and/or construction

* Commercial Property Management experience a plus

* Fluent in budgeting and financial management concepts for real estate

* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including MS Project, Excel and Access

* Proficient in use of AutoCAD
