PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION:
In the Sr. Project Manager role you will be a member of the RD Product Development team, working to execute projects for next generation medical diagnostic equipment products.
Demonstrates project ownership and guides cross-functional teams through AMO new product development gate process while understanding how to translate strategic objectives to an execution level. Ensures consistent practices throughout all phases of the project life cycle and across project teams. Uses professional concepts in accordance with company objectives to solve complex problems in a creative and effective way. Exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments. Adheres to budget, scope and schedule requirements.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
• Prepares project reports, analyses and delivers presentations including to New Products Committee at gate meetings.
• Develops processes to support project execution within the AMO development process including compliance with FDA regulations.
• Executes high quality, integrated cross-functional project plans including development of project charter, schedule, milestones, NPV, risks, issues and resources needed.
• Directs project teams in the determination of feasibility of new or modified product designs by considering performance, costs, producability, ease of implementation, serviceability, time limitations and other economic factors; expeditiously implements the best approach.
• Primary point of contact for the project and interface with Technical Leader on technical issues, Functional Manager on resource issues and Executive Sponsor on project issues.
• Facilitates cross-functional communication between RD, Marketing, Operations, Quality Assurance and Clinical/Regulatory organizations.
• Leads project team meetings and develops and manages agenda, minutes and follow up action items.
• Resolves issues, conflicts and project bottlenecks as they arise, negotiating effectively with others.
• Ensures projects run in compliance with Design Control Regulations.
• May supervise the activities of other lower-level personnel.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITY / SCOPE:
Reports to director of Project Management or Program Manager. Leads cross-functional communication between RD, Marketing, Operations and Clinical/Regulatory organizations. Primary point of contact for the project and interface with Technical Leader on technical issues, Functional Manager on resource issues and Executive Sponsor on project issues. Leads up to 3 new project teams composed of 8-12 core team members, responsible for agenda, minutes and follow up action items. Accountable for project budgets typically ranging from $2-6 million annually.
• 3-5 years of experience in new product development in technology-driven manufacturing industry (could be in Marketing, RD, Clinical, Operations, etc. role).
• 8 plus years of experience in Project Management role; must demonstrate technical project management skills.
• Medical device experience highly preferred, but not required.
• System integration end to end use case testing preferred.
• Experience with MS Office, including MS Project.
• PMP Certification preferred, but not required.
• Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt project certifications preferred, but not required.
