Sr Public Relations Manager

This position is a Senior Manager/Director level position. Contract/temporary opening. 8 months or more contract length. No relocation provided but will accept out-of-state candidates who can fund own expenses. Immediate/urgent need. Masters degree desired, Bachelors a must. Responsible for directing corporate public affairs activities and maintaining PR relationships with internal and external influencers of corporate/division reputation.

Specific functions: strategic planning, issues/crises management, executive and internal communications, and community relations/citizenship. This position will have regular interaction with division management, and is responsible for counseling and influencing management on public affairs implications of business decisions. Manages the efforts of and supervises PR firms, outside vendors, contractors, etc.

Manages issues and crises as they arise.

Directs/oversees the development of communication materials, including (but not limited to) press releases, briefing documents, employee communications, videos, executive presentations and speeches.

Directs all aspects of divisional internal/employee communications including management speeches, e-mails, newsletters, employee meetings, etc.

Works with sensitive information and is responsible for maintaining relationships across all levels.

Bachelors degree, preferably in public relations, journalism or other communications-related major. Masters degree preferred. Basic qualifications A minimum of 12+ years of public affairs or communications experience with five to seven years in a high-level communications environment in business, government or public relations agency.

Candidates must have good professional writing, communication and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects under deadline pressure.

This is a Director level position, and will report to an executive.

Strong office software skills, ability to work withing several systems and use communications software.
