Current Need
Sr Quality Assurance Test Engineer
Position Description
This position will have a high attention to detail, approach software testing scientifically and strive to build a Test Arsenal that will prove the product has defects. As the voice of the Testing organization at the project level; the Sr. Test Engineer will ensure artifacts contain the information required to devise comprehensive scripts with a large code coverage berth. The Sr. Test Engineer will push the Development organization to develop quality code by standing firm on the ideals of Quality. This position strives to prove their value by constantly devising new ways to test the product and extract test cases from requirements that would normally not be seen by a software developer.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with Project Managers, designers and developers during all phases of the SDLC
Create and maintain testing deliverables for projects as assigned
Provide regular status reports to the Quality Assurance Manager
Work with development team to resolve Quality issues
Mentor Test Engineers and Functional Testers
Create and deliver product training (internally)
Define and implement Test Harnesses using Java or scripting tools
Create and/or review various Test strategies
Scope Definition/Planning Phase
Work with project ¿Team of 3¿ (Business, Development and Test) to understand business rules and requirements
Provide test effort estimates based on project scope and requirements
Analyze and provide feedback on requirements and design documents regarding testability
Design, Development and Test Execution Phases
Create Test Cases, Scenarios, Scripts and Plans
Identify data requirements for testing
Work with the Team of 3 to determine realistic test data
Execute test scripts in controlled Test environment
Execute load and stress test suites
Document and re-test defects and issues discovered during testing
Release Phase
Manage Certification Testing
Maintenance Phase
Define and execute the Test Maintenance Plan to ensure Automated and Functional cases and scripts are updated as appropriate
Minimum Requirements
7 years of testing experience.
5 years as a Test Engineer
Attention to detail
Aggressive stance on Quality
Understanding of Software Development Methodologies
Strong knowledge of testing concepts, tools, methodologies
Ability to communicate with the Technical and Business staff
Knowledge of n-tier applications and servers
Software engineering programming experience - Jython, Java, Python a strong plus
Strong knowledge of Relational Databases, specifically Oracle 10-11g, other databases a plus
Education
4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
