Senior Quality Engineer
 
Responsibilities

 
- The position will be responsible for all ECO-System Product Quality Management functions relating to the product development and QA activities for our product lines that use 3rd party partners.  This will include COTS (Commercial-Off-The-Shelf) products as well as strategic 3rd party partners.  Other activities may also be assigned when needed.  
- The incumbent will initially work with RD, RD Operations, Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, and Strategic Sourcing to define, refine, and manage all processes needed for qualification and management of 3rd party products with respect to RD and Product Quality Assurance (PQA).  
- Will perform project, process, and supplier quality audits, generate metrics, write reports, solve problems, and improve processes.  
- The incumbent will work with Program Managers, Project Managers, Development Managers, Test Managers, Development Engineers, and Test Engineers to validate that our 3rd party product development projects conform to our process requirements and comply with our quality and reliability requirements. 
- Will develop quality plans for 3rd party product development projects.  
- Will develop metrics and reports for 3rd party product development projects. 
- Will work on problem solving and continuous improvement efforts related to our process and product quality, working collaboratively with our RD, Supply Chain, Sourcing, and Manufacturing teams.   
- Will work on additional tasks and projects as assigned by the supervisor. 
- May be responsible for performing supplier audits to assess their fitness of purpose for our products or the supplier's compliance with ISO 9001 or CMMI.

Minimum Requirements:
-  Must have a BS degree in engineering with 2 -5 years of experience in a Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or RD environment in an industrial setting, preferably in the Automation and Controls Industry.
-  2 - 5 years of training and experience in quality assurance with a thorough understanding of development lifecycles is required, including experience in traceability mapping, requirements evaluation, and process compliance.   Should be able to understand and articulate the elements of a robust life cycle and demonstrate knowledge and experience in these elements.
-  Requires data management, data extraction, and data analysis capabilities with such tools as Excel, Access, SharePoint and/or SQL Server.
-  Requires experience in analyzing and writing procedures and other forms of quality system documentation, preferably in an ISO 9001 certified system.
Preferred Requirements:
-  5+ years of experience in a similar role.
-  Some experience with electronic hardware development process.
-  MS degree in Engineering, preferable, EE or Software.
-  2+ years of experience in project management
-  Experience with CMMI.
-  Experience with an Agile development process for software.
-  ASQ CSQE or CQE certification.
-  ASQ CQA certification would be a big plus.
-  ASQ CSSGB.  ASQ CSSBB would be a big plus.
-  Prefer someone who has experience in extracting data from a wide variety of databases with preference given to people with experience in extracting data from tool databases such as ClearQuest, ChangeSynergy, Doors, and TFS.
-  Big Pluses: Experience with tools such as: CASRE, Frestimate, CodeCollaborator, and Static Code Analysis.
-  Experience in a regulated environment especially FDA regulated with corresponding understanding of FDA verification and validation requirements.
-  Experience in the Process Control industries: Oil, Gas, Nuclear Power, Power, Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences.
-  Knowledge or experience in IEC 61508 for software products.  A big plus if certified to IEC 61508 for software or hardware products.
-  Experience as an Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor for ISO 9001 audits.
