The primary role of the Sr. Sales Manager is to immediately add to bookings of Daylight Solutions’ Scientific product line in North America. External Cavity Quantum Cascade Lasers (ECqcL™) in the mid-IR continue to be applied to a growing list of spectroscopy, molecular detection, and illumination applications. Each day will be an adventure as you engage prospects and customers pursuing cutting edge research in the scientific, commerial and government markets. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Proactively engage and qualify prospects with sales calls and travel to fill the sales funnel. Execute on sales opportunities to meet sales goals.
• Use consultative sales approach to efficiently guide customers through technical discovery and identify the optimal solution.
• Maintain and track opportunities and interactions through the sales funnel using customer relationship management (CRM) software.
• Ensure continued customer satisfaction beyond the sales cycle.
• Advance understanding of customer application requirements while drawing on internal expertise as needed.
• Relay relevant customer feedback on new market opportunities and product enhancements.
• Represent the company at industry conferences and customer meetings using presentations and/or product demonstrations
• Interact with product management, manufacturing, and engineering to confirm optimal specifications for customer proposals.
Qualifications:
• 8-10+ years experience in technical sales with focus on spectroscopy, laser-based sensors and instrumentation, and/or scientific lasers.
• B.S. degree in Chemistry, Spectroscopy, Physics, Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
• Familiarity with one or more spectroscopic techniques using infrared, FTIR or Raman for molecular detection.
• Experience with analytical or scientific instrumentation sales a strong plus.
• Great interpersonal skills, communication skills in English, both oral and written.
• Highly motivated and results-oriented to achieve sales objectives and proven record of achieving sales goals.
