SUMMARY: Lead complete "cradle-to-grave" activities for space flight digital electronics architecting high-reliability electronics systems for use in NASA, DoD, commercial spacecraft and other high reliability applications; responsible for taking systems from concept to implementation through delivery of flight-qualified systems for launch; design microprocessor / microcontroller / DSP-based computers and digital systems with high performance, high bandwidth interfacing utilizing FPGAs, SDRAM, FLASH, A/Ds, D/As; provide field support to customers' facilities, NASA field centers, and military bases; verify testing of custom hardware; take systems from requirements to hardware implementation, working closely with customers and internal design staff to mature requirements and finalize design architectures.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Requires a BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering with at least a 3.0 GPA and 7 years experience in Digital and Analog Circuit Design, Low Power Electronics Design, High Speed Digital Design, Mixed Mode Circuit Design. Priority will be given to candidates with co-op, TA, or other related job experience. Must possess solid electronics design skills associated with Digital logic and analog circuit design, with experience in verification and validation; must have strong test and circuit debugging skills and be proficient with standard laboratory electronics test equipment; strong lab skills are required for the verification testing of custom hardware; must have demonstrated record of taking systems from requirements to hardware implementation, working closely with customers and internal design staff to mature requirements and finalize design architectures. Field support may require travel to customer facilities, NASA field centers, and military bases; strong communication skills, including both written and verbal are also a must. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
