Role Summary/Purpose:

 

The radio frequency (RF) electrical engineer will be familiar with have design experience with many of the following elements associated with receiver, transmitter antenna specification, testing optimization.   In this role you will have exposure to RF frequencies from 100 MHz to 2.4 GHz which require expert knowledge of basic receiver specifications (e.g. sensitivity, selectivity, intermodulation distortion, image rejection, spurious responses, etc.).   Prior experience designing developing discrete, low-cost VHF paging receiver designs (including antenna development optimization) is ideal.   Familiarity with various antenna topologies experience with optimizing antenna performance (i.e. matching circuits, ground plane optimization, radiated testing, etc.) is necessary.   Additionally, receiver experience with low-noise amplifiers (LNAs), mixers, voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs), bandpass filters (BPFs) at both RF IF frequencies is required.   As well as, transmitter experiences with power amplifiers (PAs), BPFs, transmit/receive (T/R) switches, etc.   The incumbent in this role should possess a good working knowledge of applicable RF test equipment (e.g. network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, power meter, audio analyzer, etc.).   It is also desirable for this person to have a working knowledge of test automation methods strategies, using programming languages like LabView and a solid understanding of various data modulation techniques as well as different communication protocols (e.g. ZigBee, Wi-Fi, FLEX paging, etc.).

·         Outstanding work ethic, with the ability to self-manage tasks assignments as well as put forth the effort necessary to complete deliverables in the necessary timeframe

·         Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly identify root-cause as well as develop multiple potential fixes or work-arounds

·         Good written verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft technical documents as well as produce technically-focused presentations

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

·         BSEE required, MSEE preferred; min. 8 years applicable experience necessary
