We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Sr. Shipping Manager to support our team at our Houston, TX.

 

Responsibilities:

v  Supervise the inbound truckload shipments from several suppliers for truckload weights at truckload pricing.

v  Consolidate less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments for the best possible services and most reasonable rates.

v  Be familiar with the rail, truck, air and local cartage operators serving the distributions centers.

v  Negotiate rates and service commitments with these carriers to assure the best possible service at the most reasonable rates. Qualify the carriers according to prescribed guidelines.

v  Evaluation of carriers in terms of service, rates, claims, and responsiveness to the company-s needs and requests.

v  Such other duties as may become appropriate and necessary to this position.

v  Identify and resolve problems and inconsistencies; suggest appropriate corrective procedures.

v  Perform any other duties required by manager to ensure an effective company operation.

 

Requirements:

v  Knowledge of domestic and International shipping documentation and regulations.

v  Current Hazmat Certification, ground, air and ocean is a plus.

v  Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel a must with Navision experience a plus.

v  Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

v  The ideal candidate must be enthusiastic and professional, team-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and be able to adhere to strict deadlines.
