Sr Software Engineer
OVERALL OBJECTIVE AND PURPOSE
To develop world class secure web applications. To work with other developers, information security, infrastructure and networking to ensure that security best practices are followed within the entire solution end to end. To act as a mentor in development of secure web application within the team to make security something always properly considered in design and implementation.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform code reviews with focus on security
- Keep track of patches for servers (JBoss, Apache etc.) coming out and evaluate whether the vulnerability is relevant and whether applying patch may impact the application
- Ensure that security issues identified by information security get properly fixed whether they are related to software, servers or network
- Provide input for product roadmap to ensure that security is build into the design
- Act as a security expert with the team able to make recommendations regarding security
- Act as a security champion within the development team
- Be able to bring developers, information security, infrastructure and networking together around the goal of producing secure web applications
- Expert Proficiency in Java and Java web apps
- Expert Proficiency in security of web apps
- Advanced Proficiency in general software design and implementation
- Intermediate Proficiency in infrastructure and networking
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Minimum education Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent.
Years Experience 5 or more years of related experience.
