Our client's platform enables an extremely customizable entertainment experience that offers on-demand video/music, iPod/iPhone compatibility, HD video quality, personalized exercise data/feedback, much much more! The company enables media companies advertisers to have direct access to a segment of the general population that is often too difficult to reach with traditional marketing campaigns. THE OPPORTUNITY:
Our client is actively seeking a Sr. Software Engineer with expertise in Embedded Linux to further develop our futuristic internet touch screen product. This includes evaluating integrating hardware, resolving hardware software interaction problems, board bring-up, maintaining the Operating System (OS) imaging station, writing code in C/C++ or other scripting languages. They're seeking a generalist that is passionate about cutting edge technology strives to implement the best solution to improve their product. We're looking for flexible self-motivated individuals with relevant skills a real passion for the cutting edge technology out client is developing.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Candidates are required to have @ least 5 years of experience in low resource Linux environments coding C/C++.
- Candidates must have a background in scripting software that interfaces with hardware devices.
- Candidates must show expertise with Linux device drivers (preferably working with V4L).
- Candidates must have a good amount of experience with networking at the application Operating System (OS) level.
- Candidates must have a proven track record of having an excellent work ethic, collaboration, ultimately a very excellent team player.
- Candidates must be adept at multitasking, resolving competing priorities, meeting scheduled deadlines.
- Candidates must have superb communication skills exceptional personal character.
- The ideal candidate should be a decisive action oriented individual who learns very quickly, works independently, creates solutions.
- The candidate must also have experience working in a start-up environment.
BONUS SKILLS:
- Candidates need expertise with JavaScript, HTML, CSS.
- Candidates need a good background working with Qt
- Candidates need a solid skills with HDTV, VLC, Xine, or other Linux multimedia players.
- Ideal candidates preferably have a background working with MPEG2/3, flash internals, or internet streaming video.
