Sr Software Engineer (Lead)
This Lead Developer position is in the Two Way eMail Chat group of Fidelity's Interactive Technology Communications (ICT) team of Fidelity's Personal Workplace and Investing Technology group.
The Two Way eMail and Chat group supports Fidelity's Secure eMail and Instant Messaging functionality hosted by a third party vendor and used by Retail and Workplace customers and internal associates. The Technical Lead within this group will work closely with the project manager, systems analysts, architects, other developers and the vendor to design, build, test, and deliver the features that make up Fidelity's eMail and Chat functionality.
The position will be located in Westlake, TX.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with evaluating and integrating Vendor product and enhancements into Fidelity's systems
- Performs complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects while working under tight deadlines
- Represent and articulate technology solutions to our business partners
- Document technical alternatives and recommend strategy
- Ensure all efforts are performed within the context of Fidelity enterprise application and data architecture standards.
- Work with various technologies and programming languages. Our products use Java/J2EE, SQL and run on AIX, Solaris, Unix Windows
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or preferred
- 6+ years experience in software development
- Strong software development skills, required experience with:
- Server Side Java, J2EE, JSP, Servlets, multi-threaded JAVA and Tomcat, Open Source Frameworks - Spring MVC, Spring Core, Hibernate. XML, Integration with SOAP WebServices : JAX-WS, SQL and store procedure, JDBC,
- Experience with the following is a plus
- HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Ajax, Dojo
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve problems and formulate recommendations
- Understanding of the waterfall and agile software development methodologies
- Ability to lead a team of developers and collaborate with others
- Work independently and under little supervision / guidance
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, including facing off to senior leaders in the business and technology organizations
- Ability to understand a complex systems environment and communicate technology direction appropriately to multiple audiences
- Demonstrated ability to balance priorities and simultaneous projects in a highly dynamic and results-oriented environment
- Excel working in an Agile environment where change is the "norm"
- Desire to take initiative, with a view to continuous improvement
