Department
The Senior Specialist for Electrical Safety will be reporting to the Director for the Corporate Health and Safety Department. The Health and Safety Department is part of the Corporate Sustainability function.
The overall objective of the department is to drive a Zero Injury culture in order to ensure that Vestas constantly improves its Health and safety performance. The department is responsible for setting the direction for global Health Safety initiatives across business units – this includes developing Vestas standards, process, tools and training modules - all supporting the company in maintaining its position as market leader.
Responsibilities and Tasks
The Senior Specialist for Electrical Safety will be the Corporate Expert relating to Electrical Safety, Control of Hazardous Energy (LOTO), Arch Flash prevention and High Voltage safety.
The main responsibilities/tasks will be to:
· Advise Senior management in relation to Electrical Safety and Control of Hazardous Energy (LOTO)
· Provide technical support to the Business Units in the implementation of Minimum Standards for Control of Hazardous Energy (LOTO) and Electrical Safety Program
· Maintain and continue the development of training programs relating to Electrical safety and Control of Hazardous Energy
· Maintain and continue the development of Vestas Minimum Standards for Electrical Safety and Control of Hazardous Energy (LOTO)
· Give technical advice on design solutions relating to electrical safety and control of Hazardous energy in new wind turbines and upgrades of existing
· Develop and deploy High Voltage safety Program and Arch Flash prevention program
· Facilitate Root Cause Investigations of electrical incidents
· Perform Electrical Safety/LOTO audits
· Maintain professional expertise so as to keep the organization aware of electrical safety regulatory changes that may impact the business
· Actively participate in Wind Energy Association and/or other standardization organizations affecting policy for electrical safety standards in the Wind Industry
Qualifications and Work Experience
• Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• PE or equivalent professional certification required
• Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical safety
• International experience preferred
• Fluent in both spoken and written English
• Root Cause Analysis and auditing expertise preferred
• Proficiency in M.S. Office, Outlook, and general knowledge of HSE data systems

This role is a leadership role within the Sustainability organization.
In addition to the above mentioned qualifications the position requires:
