Position Summary The Senior Staff Accountant in EMEA Consolidations is principally responsible for the day-to-day functions related to reviewing, analyzing and reporting the monthly results of the Europe,Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia Pacific (APAC) operations to the Corporate Consolidations Group.
Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for the monthly close process of the EMEA PL and EMEA / APAC balance sheet, related journal entries, and other supplemental exhibits. More specifically;
- Perform financial analysis and validations on financial statements for EMEA and APAC operations.
- Liaise with controllers of various international countries to facilitate the review of monthly results and follow up on outstanding issues
- Prepare and review monthly exhibit schedules for submission to the Corporate Consolidations department.
- Work closely with the manager to review and perform analytics over financial statements and exhibits on a higher level and resolve issues.
- Assist with streamlining current consolidations process including process mapping and / or development of desk procedures
- Prepare and / or review journal entries
- Assist external auditors in their review of 10K / 10Q results and Sarbanes Oxley controls testing and provide necessary support
- Participate in creation of ad hoc analysis reports as needed by management. Review, research and assist with explanations of variances.
Education/Skill Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
2-4 years of experience in accounting / finance related role
CPA, required
Requires the following skill set:
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting requirements
- Strong analytical and organization skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels within the corporation and various business units
- Demonstrated excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently with an ability to work under pressure to meet specific deadlines.
- Knowledge of automated accounting and reporting systems, PeopleSoft and Hyperion Financial Management.
